MADRONA COMMUNITY EVENTS
Celebrating Where We Are: The Pacific Northwest
This year, we're replacing traditional events with nature-based community gatherings that celebrate our unique Olympic Peninsula home. These family events honor the rhythms of our rainforest, coastline, and seasons.
🐋 GRAY WHALE CELEBRATION (January) The gray whales are migrating! Join us for whale stories, ocean crafts, and marine mammal education. Optional family whale-watching excursion info provided.
🌧 ️ RAIN FESTIVAL (February) We embrace the rain! Puddle jumping parade, rain stick making, and cozy story time. Wear your rain gear - we WILL get wet!
🌿 FIDDLEHEAD FERN WALK (March) Spring emerges in the forest! Family guided walk to spot fiddleheads, trilliums, and signs of spring in the temperate rainforest.
🏖 ️ EARTH DAY BEACH CLEANUP (April) We care for our beaches! Family beach cleanup, tide pool exploration, and driftwood art. All ages welcome.
🍄 MUSHROOM FESTIVAL (May) The PNW is mushroom heaven! Mushroom identification walk, spore print art, and learning about the magical underground mycelium network.
☀ ️ SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION (June) The longest day! Sun prints, flower crowns, and an evening gathering to watch our famous late PNW sunset (around 9pm!).
💜 LAVENDER FESTIVAL (July) Sequim is the Lavender Capital of North America! Lavender sachets, sensory exploration, and optional family trips to local lavender farms.
🐟 SALMON HOMECOMING (August) The salmon are returning! Salmon lifecycle learning, stream walk, and Indigenous cultural appreciation with a guest speaker.
🍎 APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL (September) Apple season in the PNW! Visit a local orchard, press cider, and celebrate the harvest together.
🎃 PUMPKIN PATCH & FOREST HALLOWEEN (October) Pumpkin patch trip and nature-themed Halloween - owls, bats, and forest creatures. Nature costume parade!
🍂 HARVEST TABLE (November) Each family brings a dish from their culture or tradition. We gather at a long community table to share food, gratitude, and connection.
🏮 LANTERN WALK (December) Our signature Madrona tradition! Children carry handmade lanterns through the forest at dusk, singing songs of light and community. Hot cocoa and togetherness follow. This is our most magical night of the year.
All events follow Madrona dietary standards: Egg-Free • Nut-Free • Low Sugar • Dye-Free • Organic When Available
Holiday Concert & Family Dinner
The Children have been practicing since the first week of November and it is the cutest thing we have ever seen!
Come join us for a few winter themed songs and a big potluck style Family Dinner! Miss Lisa will bring the main dish and families bring the sides and extras!
Such a wonderful way to connect with other families and celebrate the season with friends.

Art Show
The children have been learning for the better part of year about various famous artists and different styles of art! Come and take a walk through our gallery to see their amazing replications and creations!
Light Refreshments served
This event is a fundraiser and all proceeds go to our Scholarship Fund

Parent Date Night!!
Have a night out and we will watch the children! They can enjoy lots of fun activities with friends while you enjoy an evening out! Finding a babysitter can be so difficult, let us help!

We all know that the unexpected can happen at any time, and our children’s safety is paramount. Gain the skills you need to help save a life in the event of an emergency.
Join Instructor and local Firefighter Tyler Gage in this 4 hour First Aid & CPR class held right here at Madrona!

Love & Logic Parenting Class
Raise happy and well-behaved children with positive, loving tools
The Love and Logic approach to parenting is built around the science of caring and respectful relationships. An authentic, loving connection between parents and their children forms the foundation of good behavior and healthy decision-making.
The Love & Logic approach provides a variety of simple and effective strategies for parenting children from birth to adulthood.

Fathers Day Daddy and Me Workshop
Let’s start a tradition together!
Fathers Day is Sunday, June 21st and what better way to get ready to celebrate than spending some special one on one time with your child!
The workshop will begin with a welcome song, then a very special story time followed by a related wood working project and light refreshment. A perfect opportunity to connect and celebrate what a wonderful job you all do as Fathers!
This is a free workshop - Open to our students and community members with preschool age children.
