What makes Madrona different
A proprietary blended methodology. The Madrona Method™ draws from the most respected traditions in early childhood education and weaves them into a cohesive, practiced approach. No single philosophy is applied in isolation — every element is chosen because it serves children.
Social-emotional learning as a foundation, not an afterthought. Children learn when they feel safe. At Madrona, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and self-awareness are woven into every part of the day — not pulled out when something goes wrong.
Environments built with intention. Our classrooms are calm, beautiful, and purposefully prepared. Natural materials, open-ended exploration, soft light, and thoughtful design communicate something to children before a single word is spoken: you are valued here.
Educators who are trained differently. Our team holds certifications in the The Madrona Method™ as well as in trauma-informed care and inclusive practices. They are not simply caregivers — they are trained professionals who understand child development deeply and apply that understanding every day.
Families as genuine partners. You will not be on the outside of your child's education at Madrona. You will be invited in — to understand, to ask, and to contribute what only a parent knows.
Madrona Children’s Academy is not a traditional childcare center.
Madrona was built for families who need full-day care and refuse to compromise on quality. We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 5:30pm — but the hours are where the similarity to conventional childcare ends.
Every moment of the day at Madrona is purposeful. The materials your child touches, the language their teachers use, the way conflict is handled, the rhythm of the afternoon — none of it is accidental. It is the result of a methodology rooted in Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia principles, unified by a deep commitment to social-emotional learning and guided by the proven framework of Love & Logic.
We are not preparing children to sit quietly at a desk. We are preparing them for a lifetime.
